AIM helps individuals with developmental disabilities and their families understand what services are available through the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

We assist with the process of applying for eligibility for OPWDD services, and help individuals connect to services once eligibility is obtained.

This typically includes a referral to a regional Care Coordination Organization, such as Person Centered Services or Prime Care.

Our advocate can also help consumers understand the special education system, prepare for the transition from school to post-school life, and explore housing options and supported employment opportunities.

Even if OPWDD eligibility is not obtained, we can still provide referrals to other supports and services available in the community.

For more information, contact OPWDD Intake Coordinator Luchiana Buman at (607) 962-8225, ext. 223.
